The Patient Practice Group (PPG) at Sherwood Medical Practice was set up in 2012 and is well established. The group usually meet on a Monday evening at 5.30pm on a bimonthly basis. The group is open to both men and women of all ages and ethnic origin. Currently the ages range from teenage to elderly, both male and female and are representative of our patient's ethnic mix. We are actively seeking parents of young children to be part of the PPG. The group reviews everything from access to the services, to local health needs, to the effect of the changes in the NHS on the practice. It is an open membership group that encourages involvement and attendance from all areas of the practice community – all patients registered at Sherwood House Medical Practice are eligible to be part of the PPG group.
Virtual Patient Practice Group (VPPG)
Alongside the main PPG group we have a Virtual Patient Practice Group (VPPG) so that you can have your say. We communicate via email. We ask all members of this representative group some questions from time to time such as – what do you think about the Surgery opening times? Or the quality of the care you have received.
Should you be interested in working with the practice to review the services offered by being a member of either the PPG or VPPG, please contact Mary Parkes in the first instance on maryeparkes20@gmail.com or the surgery via sherwood.ppg@nhs.net for your e-mail to be forwarded to Mary.
We would welcome the opportunity of working with you to improve the standards of care we currently offer.
